As of 07/10/2009, I received word of my impending layoff, come end of the month. To most people – especially in these times of troubled economy (and for a myriad of other reasons) – a layoff is not favourable news. For me, only one word came to mind: opportunity. It wasn’t personal; there was a shortage of work in the near future and I have a multitude of projects and interests on the horizon that I’m looking forward to bringing to the forefront.

I’m not always known for being frugal – frankly, sometimes I am the downright antithesis. However, turning frugality into a challenge offers me something of an incentive (in addition to being unemployed!) … and sprouts are the cheapest and healthiest way to feed the body.

The book was acquired last weekend, in addition to a large quantity of Mumm’s Sprouting Seeds. I’m skilled at the art of sprouting; now I need to actually eat all the sprouts!
