			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On this blessed weekend (and past few wonderful days), I have abandoned most of my pure raw eating but have mercifully continued with my supplementation and green smoothies on a daily basis. Thursday night at our church, I managed a near vegan dinner accompanied by a huge salad during our session of &#8220;Christianity Explored&#8221;. The weekend was a bit precarious, but fruit smoothies and salads dominated for the most part. Friday evening, I enjoyed my favourite Viet-Thai dish of baby corn, onions, cashews, and tofu in a spicy orange sauce. After church today, a lovely couple invited us to Swiss Chalet. I indulged in a Festival Special, but had the chicken replaced with a salad. Overall, my &#8220;cheats&#8221; are tending to be fairly innocuous <img src='http://www.rawrevenge.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' />  </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Recording makes me accountable. Over the past week, I decided to rebel against my ingrained urges and desist to keep track of everything that I consume. I learned a valuable lesson from this experiment: when I am not holding myself accountable through some tangible means, I fall farther off the wagon than a bungee jumper off a cliff. Many things I fed into myself do fall into the acceptable range (the occasional Viet-Thai dinner of stir fried vegetables, tofu, and rice) but others I am rather appalled about &#8211; leftover pizza, some sugary cereal, and copious amounts of Hallowe&#8217;en chocolate. I know that human beings are infallible, but I would rather be seen as something of a dietary control freak rather than losing myself in a bag of candy. Therefore, I will begin keeping track of my culinary proclivities again. Whether I publicly share or not remains to be seen; I only know that I need (and will) climb out of this hole!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In the past week, I have eaten a great number of things I haven&#8217;t eaten for months. I can&#8217;t say that I enjoyed all of the experiences, but I certainly found pleasure in some of them. My actions were partially prompted by my own knowledge and awareness of being too thin, and the rest was recently inspired by the concerns of my family that were brought to my attention. The fact is that I think I <em>was</em> developing an unhealthy obsession with food healthiness and purity.</p>
<p>Why do I acknowledge/think this:</p>
<p>- Dreading family gatherings at times<br />
- Being depressed by going into a grocery store<br />
- Questioning my current relationship because of his diet<br />
- Classifying that which most people eat as <strong><font color="green">&#8220;poison&#8221;</font></strong> [*]<br />
- Fear of eating most things</p>
<p>Eating well is one thing; driving myself to obsession is quite another!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I need to gain weight; the fact is that I am too thin. Out of love, my mother and sister approached me with a frank discussion about <a target="_blank" href="http://www.skwigg.com/id8.html">Orthorexia</a>. According to the quiz, I am borderline. All I ever wanted to do was to eat a high-raw, healthy, and nutritious mostly vegan diet, but I can see now that perhaps it <em>has</em> turned into a bit of an obsession for me. Life is to be enjoyed; I can appreciate that my constant self-monitoring is a cause of concern for my family. I need to develop a new strategy. The fact is that I am NOT eating enough fats. A plethora of nuts are on my list for next week. I am also going to ensure that every day is begun with a nutrient rich (protein packed) super food smoothie. If I ea something that&#8217;s not on my &#8220;diet&#8221;, OH WELL. I am going to proceed with a high raw lifestyle, BUT I am also going to treat myself with LOVE and FORGIVENESS. This is the key to my healing.</p>
<ol>
<li>Do you spend more than 3 hours a day thinking about food? (For four hours give yourself two points.)  &#8212; No</li>
<li>Do you plan tomorrow&#8217;s food today? &#8212; No</li>
<li>Do you care more about the virtue of what you eat than the pleasure you receive from eating it?  &#8212; Yes</li>
<li>Have you found that as the quality of your diet has increased, the quality of your life has correspondingly diminished? &#8212; No</li>
<li>Do you keep getting stricter with yourself?  &#8212; Not anymore</li>
<li>Do you sacrifice experiences you once enjoyed to eat the food you believe is right?  &#8212; Sometimes</li>
<li>Do you feel an increased sense of self-esteem when you are eating healthy food? Do you look down on others who don&#8217;t? &#8212; Yes and No</li>
<li>Do you feel guilt or self-loathing when you stray from your diet? &#8212; Only if it&#8217;s something distinctly unhealthy</li>
<li>Does your diet socially isolate you? &#8212; No</li>
<li>When eating the way you are supposed to, do you feel a peaceful sense of total control?  &#8212; Yes</li>

Here I am, dealing with health concerns &#8211; limping with a cane &#8211; and yet I allowed myself to be coerced into eating things that I KNOW were not in my best interest over the weekend. Tuesday I head back north &#8211; a bag of fruit, vegetables from my CSA share, and a loaf of Ezekiel bread for a &#8216;treat&#8217;. Perhaps some raw cheese.</p>
